This week, we really got into the Hawaiian spirit!

We read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, a book about the alphabet climbing a coconut tree...

...and then we did some coconut tree math!

We also got to spend one last day with Miss Corinna before she prepared for her wedding this weekend.  She helped make handprint coconut trees...

...to create our own Chicka Chicka Boom Boom stories!

We read lots about Hawaii...

...and were especially fascinated with hula dancers.

We had fun with flowers...

...we had fun with playdough...

...we always have fun!

And, a special congratulations to Mrs. Corinna Wydra!!!!

May 15th, 2015

This week, we've been learning all about sign language!

Everyone caught on quickly and, by the end of the week, we were signing pros

We started with our library of awesomeness.

Then, on Monday we explored our first vocabulary set with emotions...

...because there is never a shortage of emotions when you're five years old.

We painted how we were feeling that Monday morning, making sure to learn the sign as well.

Miss Corinna is most definitely our classroom expert and, on Tuesday, she taught us the alphabet, A-Z.

Then, we figured out our names

On Wednesday, we examined numbers 1-10.  We completed some math sentences...

...and we made take-home books.

On Thursday, we celebrated our family members.  We drew pictures of them while also learning their signs.

Reviewing the letter Ff, we got to finger paint and trace along letter Ff mats.

This morning just so happened to be National Chocolate Chip Day.  It's also the day we learned some food signs.  What better way to celebrate than to whip up a batch of chocolate chip cookies?

Rainy days?  No problem!  We have dancing and a fresh batch of cookies!

:)
