Welcome back and Happy New Year!!!
We've had a wonderful week in school.
Returning from Christmas break, we were ready to work!
We've started a new unit on animals in the winter, focusing on forest animals this week.
We read The Mitten...
...and then we stuffed our own animals onto a mitten.
We examined the concept of hibernating animals this week as well. Learning especially about bears, we made our snowy caves for them.
We also examined other animals in their dens and burrows.
We didn't have a letter of the week this week, but instead reviewed A-K.
We constructed playdough letters...
...played with our letter tubs...
...practiced writing letters...
...a lot.
And, we used our interactive whiteboard.
For math, we practiced counting...
...matching.
...and helping the bear find his cave.
Eventually, we were ready to write in our science journals.
Coming back after two weeks is hard work! Sometimes, we needed a little pick-me-up.
It's good to be back!
