Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Today, we tried to catch some leprechauns with our 4 leprechaun traps...

But, they were too clever for us.  Each trap had the gold pieces taken with only footprints and a note left behind...
But, we had fun discovering what shenanigans they were up to in our classroom.

We had a good time making some St. Patrick's Day art...
...and planting some clovers.
It was a St. Patrick's Day to remember!

Last week, as we started our new unit on rainbows and St. Patrick's Day, we filled up our library with new books (we love New Book Day).

We also started our Monday with a fresh, new batch of Kool Aid rainbow playdough.  It was beautiful and it smelled like Kool Aid!

Still working with polls and graphs, we "fished" out foods and sorted them by colors...

...to make a rainbow of foods.

We had fun with a sensory bin o' gold...

...and got in some counting practice.

We also experimented with celery and food coloring.

We made our predictions...

Then, five days later, we drew our conclusions.

Literally drew them.

On Wednesday the 9th, we were able to welcome back Ms. Katie from maternity leave.  We're all so happy to have her back at school!

These last two weeks, we've practiced counting...

...and we've practiced dotting.

We've practiced cutting...

...and we've practiced patterning.

By the end of last week, we had a little fun with St Patrick's Day art...

...and S's
S is for St Patrick's Day!

And, well, swans.
s is for swan!
We do love our art.

And Ocean Beach rainbows.

  2. I really liked your class activities. Kids seem to be busy doing all this. St Patrick's Day art is my favorite among all. We also did such fun activities on St Patrick's Day. My Phoenix pre-k students loved those activities.
